DCI’s and everything thriller

Standard

I have been on another kick of reading adult books…I know, GASP! In my defense, though, they have all been British thrillers and murder mysteries, and you KNOW how much I love all things Great Britain. Best of all, they’ve all been audiobooks! I cannot begin to tell you how much I enjoy being read to in any British accent. Scottish, Welsh, Irish, English – it doesn’t matter, I love them all. Here’s a breakdown of the series I’ve enjoyed, and yes, there are MANY to choose from. These books can be found on Audible, at your local public library, and on Kobo. I HIGHLY recommend that you plug into one or more of these series.

Vera Stanhope by Ann Cleeves (this is an excellent television series available on Britbox and well worth watching)

Shetland by Ann Cleeves (this is also an excellent series on Britbox…Brits know how to tell a good story!)

Matthew Venn mysteries by Ann Cleeves

Charles Lenox by Charles Finch (this one is also a period piece and a cozy mystery series)

Misty Isle Mysteries by J. M. Dalgliesh (Sigh…Scottish accents!)

Hidden Norfolk by J. M. Dalgliesh

Dark Yorkshire by J. M. Dalgliesh

DC Smith Investigations by Peter Grainger

Atticus Priest series by Mark Dawson (Atticus is a brusque private investigator…the language is spicy)

DS Vicky Dodds Scottish Crime Thrillers by Ed James (sadly, there aren’t many series with female leads 😦

DCI Logan Crime Thrillers by JD Kirk (Another Scottish series)

Ruth Galloway Mysteries by Elly Griffiths (Ruth is an archaeologist who finds herself embroiled in several mysteries and one unintentional affair)

DI Kelly Porter series by Rachel Lynch (Finally, another female detective lead)

DCI Warlow series by Rhys Dylan (Get yourself a membership to Kobo…these audiobooks come as part of your subscription)
